I realized that I won't become a real woman but something really similar to.

הבנתי שאני לא
יכולה להפוך לאשה ממש, אלא רק
למשהו שקרוב מאוד לאשה, למשהו

1. Dana International is a transsexual woman.
I wanted not to talk about this topic on .::Dana International online::. It was one of the most important decisions made about this page. I wanted people see Dana as a beautiful woman and a talented singer. But it's impossible to hide some things and it should be talked about some topics. Dana became a symbol of freedom and openness. She has never denied her transsexuality and a lot of times she answered always the same questions during interviews or meetings. This is what makes her so special. She is honest to herself and tries to break borders and give courage to other people. Dana was physically born as a man and psychically as a woman. It means that she felt like a woman having male genitals.

2. What is transidentity?
Transidentity (also known as transsexuality) is an illness of the spirit. You belong with your psyche to the opposite sex, but you have all genitals of the sex you won't be. If you are a transsexual woman you feel like a woman you would like to live and be accepted as a woman. But there is a small problem which doesn't allow you to have a normal sexual life of the sex you feel to be.
3. Is it possible to heal transidentity?
Yes, "in principium". A lot of transgendered people feel such a strong wish to be psychically and physically one sex that they decide to make the most important step. They decide having surgeries which more or less solve the problem of the double identity. This is a very hard catch into the body. The genitals have to be removed and replaced with a neovagina or a penis. You have also go through a lot of hormonal
treatments.

4. And what about children?
After removing of the genitals it is impossible for a transsexual man or woman to get own children. He/she might have new genitals which might be perfect but it's not enough for getting own children. For a M/F (man to female) transgendered it's no problem with having sex, F/M might have some more problems. Why? The male penis is a complicated organ and it's more difficult to make it perfect as a neovagina e.g.
5. Who are trans*people?
They are people and human beings as you and me. They're coming from all social classes and are in different ages. There is no rule for being trans. And none wants to be transsexual, none wants to go this difficult way just for fun. My opinion is that we are equal and there is
no difference between us. Thanks to heaven that we're living in different ages and the times are also becoming more and more liberal. No one should be judged on his skin colour, sexuality, religion or nationality. Before you start judging someone it would be better if you go and ask him/her if he/she needs some help. The worst thing that could happen to a transsexual person is to loose the friends and family.
6. Is it normal?
Yes of course it is! Transidentity originates during the pregnancy. It's a reason why the psyche and the physics are later not equal. No one chooses to be this way, you also can't do anything against other sicknesses e.g. cancer. Transsexual are normal and regular people.
And as far as I know, there is no description of being
"normal" or not.

7. What to do when I am transsexual?
First of all is to search for contacts of other trans* groups. They will help you answer your questions. They also have a list of good psychotherapists and doctors. I would not go to the first better doctor, it should be specialists. Trans* (or self-helping groups) are in every big city and in nearly every bigger one (talking about Germany now). You should also search for contacts in the internet, it's one of the easiests ways. Europe is a quiet liberal and open continent. There are of course differences. The protestant countries are more open-thinking as the catholic ones. But reassuming the situation here is good, especially after Dana's performance and victory in Birmingham in 1998.
8. § Liability for this website:
I am just a webmaster of a website and not a specialist. Because of the fact that Dana International's transsexual I had to inform myself a little bit about this topic. This website here should only show how complicated transidentity is. I want to show that's nothing bad or you should be ashamed for. I can ask for more tolerance and understandment. Everyone has smaller or bigger spots. And only God can judge the people and decide what is good and what is bad. Only God,
NOT WE!
